“ Nice popup restaurant serving good brunch food with fun pun names. I wasn't fan of the indoor seating though. The booth we were in were against the wall with seats facing inward, meaning that people had to sit on the same side of the table, or on the edge. I rather face the people I'm eating with. It was also loud and dark inside, which isn't conducive to the brunch type of atmosphere I like. The host gave us quite some attitude when we kindly asked if we could be re-seated in the outdoor parklets given there were open seats there (to be fair, we had already said indoor was okay when he seated us, but he seemed to take extra effort in trying to make us feel bad for asking). The outdoor parklets were way better. The food was really good, though portions were on the small side. We ordered the following. Bennie with seoul (4.5 out of 5): tempura chicken, poached eggs, korean style sauce. The chicken was really crispy, and the poached eggs were just right. Green Tea french toast (4 out of 5): Nice french toast with a good cream. Not sure if the matcha did anything for me though. And perhaps I would have liked a nicer type of bread for this french toast. Cajun fried chicken french toast (4.5 out of 5): The crispiness on the chicken was the best! ”

“ Came here on a Saturday morning with a reservation and were seated quickly! Good: I liked the Benedict with seoul that I got as a main dish and wow the portion sizes are good here! The Benedict was super unique and was quite a cool take on a classic dish. The Korean fried chicken was super crunchy and had tons of flavor. The home fries were good too and crispy! Bad: The service was slower here so it took a while to get the food out, and everything was paper/plastic so it was more of a casual setting (not a bad thing, just don’t expect fancy brunch). Overall really enjoyed the food and would come for another Benedict! ”

“ The complimentary French toast for my 6 year old won me over from the gate. We had a large party and wanted to switch up our Mother’s Day buffet tradition and try something new. The restaurant felt homey and the food was delicious. I loved the watermelon mimosa and yet that blood Mary onion ring thingy majig was the eye catcher. Thank you for pure hospitality today. ”

“ Hmm I think I just expected a bit more... So this place is good. But there are some flags. I think for one (and a lot of other reviews mention this) but the food is served on to go plates with to go utensils. Also I think we were sitting on a plastic foldable table? Just didn't feel very sturdy... The service was great, food tasted good but I think everything was just kinda small. Like the muffins felt small and the plate felt kind of empty... ”

“ This was one of the best places I have ever been!! I have never had a more pleasant experience at a restaurant. The food was delicious, the ambience was really cute and my girlfriend got free shots for her birthday! Upon arrival, the chef came and introduced himself to us and told us about the specials. He was the sweetest man I have ever met! The crab Benedict changed my life and I wish I lived in San Francisco so I could come here every week. My table also got the tofu scramble, the orange zest French toast & the duck Benedict and they were all so happy! If you're in town you HAVE to come here. 10/10! ”

“ I am part of the "Together SF" Lower Polk Volunteer Clean-Up crew on alternate Saturdays. In fact, I will be leading the charge next month while Kumar is away in May. As a thank you to us volunteers, the owner offered us all free brunch for helping keep the neighborhood clean! The 1st time I volunteered it was at the end of the day. We had a volunteer Happy-Hour sponsored by "California Jack's" then, but if you volunteer on a Saturday morning from 11a-12p, you will see that the brunch food selection here is excellent and their mimosas are super tasty bubbly especially after picking up garbage and keeping Polk Street clean on your weekend off! I cannot wait to bring my husband for graduation brunch next month. There used to be a LOT more brunch n munch people here on weekends before the Pandemic. Mayes Oyster House where "Friends with Benedicts" serves brunch was packed wall to wall inside and out back then. Musicians, artists, and vendors are slowly coming back to Fern Alley now that Endemic has been reached. Things are slowly coming back, but not fast enough for gems like these! May they remain open and stay in business for the longevity of our once thriving neighborhood. The nightlife hasn't come back to its once fabled glory, but we keep hope alive here. It's safer and cleaner than ever. Food service and quality never disappoint, so definitely support local businesses. Let's not speak of stimulating this overinflated economy, shall we? The future may be uncertain, but we do what we can to live, love, and enjoy one another in the present. While here, we might as well live our best lives by participating. ”

“ 3.5/5 Bar/club type place turned pop-up brunch on Sundays. Head chef acted as maître d’, and was super pleasant and knowledgeable. Small round tables placed somewhat sporadically inside, but we were seated by the nice fireplace. Food was good, coffee not so much. As it’s a pop up, all our dishware/cutlery were disposable and/or plastic. Presentation was on point! ”
